What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?
I am thankful for:
- Family
- Friends
- Health
- My job
- The places I get to travel to
- My iPhone!
Hope everyone had a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
Oh wow.
I am behind in the news.
Thank goodness for Perez Hilton to update me. Here is what I found out in under 5 minutes by checking his blog. LOL!
- There is a Wall Street 2 movie being filmed. It inclues Michael Douglas, who somehow has the same hair he had in the first movie?!
- Britney Spears is taking her tour to Australia?! Go Britney!
- Stephen King is writing a sequel to The Shining. That book and movie still scare me today!
- Katie Holmes went to see New Moon in NYC. Wonder if she read the books?!
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggh! This was the sound I made (loudly) when I read the news that U2 would be headlining the Glastonbury Festival this coming June.
I had read the rumors over the weekend, and I guess it gets rumored each year that U2 will play there.
Anyway, after reading the rumors I did a little research into the event. Glastonbury is over 100 miles outside of London. There will be more than 170,000 people in attendance all festival style.
170,000 people??! Holy HELL!!!!
Back in 2001 I did Slane Castle and that was 80,000 people at an all day concert. It was a long day but amazing.
I am 9 years older now and to be honest I don't think I could be in a crowd of 170,000 people.
So, I guess it's OK that that it's already sold out right?
Oh, and the reason for the Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggh!!! Glastonbury is the only date U2 will play in the UK and Ireland in 2010. Really?! Seriously?! WTF???
New Moon broke The Dark Knight's single day box office record. Are you planning on seeing this teenage vampire love story? If so: Team Edward or Team Jacob?
Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!! Oh my!!
I wanted to put my FB status to team Jacob just to see what the reaction would be!
Maybe tomorrow I will, because I think I am going to see the movie. : D
This morning I went to a funeral mass at 11am. It was at my church so it was very close by. I sat in my car by myself trying to get up enough courage to get inside. Plus I knew I wanted to be seated before the casket and the family got there.
My friend Karen's Dad passed away on Wednesday. He had been suffering since February so in a way it's a blessing that his pain is over. Plus his wife passed last year and they had been married for 50 years and now they are together again.
My friend herself wasn't at the funeral. She is in Intensive Care in the hospital with complications from diabetes. She has been there since Wednesday. I went to visit her last night for a little bit and she just seems so very sad and tired.
I don't know if I could deal with missing a parents funeral mass, but I think it's all about the relationship you had with them while they were alive. I am sure her Dad would want her to take care of herself and get better. Parents are unselfish like that.
My Mom had a hair appointment at 10am and the funeral was at 11am so she wasn't sure if she was going to be able to make it. I was sitting on the end of pew and must've been deep in thought because next thing I knew someone was trying to get into my row with me. My first thought was, UM THERE IS A LOT OF SPACE HERE GET YOUR OWN ROW! But, then I realized the person was hugging me and it was my Mom. She wanted to be there for my friend and to make sure I was OK too.
The priest told some great stories about Karen's Dad and there was even some laughter. But, then of course they played Amazing Grace and Ave Maria and I was all weepy. It didn't help that the last song they played as the casket was being walked out was 'America the Beautiful' and my Mom turned and said to me 'Don't forget when it's my turn that's one of the songs I want'
It's been a weird week. Even my evil brother asked me if I was OK last night.
There will be no tears next week!

First, we're happy to announce that the team has identified and fixed the issue with the YouTube conduit; you can now find and add videos from YouTube to your library and posts. As always, thanks for your patience!
The other news we have today is about a new addition to the Six Apart family: TypePad Micro, a new free level of TypePad that is streamlined for microblogging. We see a new form of blogging emerging that lives between the quick status updates of Twitter and Facebook and the long-form posts of "classic" blogging; TypePad Micro is designed to meet that need. You can read more about TypePad Micro in Chris Alden's post on the Everything TypePad blog.
A lot of the new capabilities we've added to TypePad this year were actually inspired by some of the best things about Vox: favoriting, member profiles, a dashboard to follow other bloggers, and easy ways to post content from other social media sites. But the things that make Vox different from TypePad are still there: Vox has always been -- and still is -- the best place for "friends and family" blogging, where you're in control over who sees what. TypePad, on the other hand, is built for the blogger who wants, no, craves, attention.
Do you have a passion or interest you want to share with people beyond your Vox neighborhood? If so, we'd love it if you tried out TypePad Micro. Maybe you've always wanted to start that obsessive blog that's just about waffle restaurants. Or want a place to share videos of your favorite band (Jonas Brothers, anyone? Anyone? ...). TypePad Micro's great for those topic-specific blogs. Take it for a spin and let us know what you think.
On the Vox front, our designers are working on some cool new themes (coming soon!). We'd also love to hear your thoughts about where we should take Vox in the coming year. What are the key things you'd like to see for Vox? If you've had a chance to use TypePad this year, what are the features there that we should bring over to Vox? And, if you're thinking big thoughts, how could we connect the Vox and TypePad communities in order to bring together bloggers and their shared passions? Your feedback is really important to us, so please leave a comment here, or shoot me a message.
And again, thanks for your patience as we found and fixed the YouTube bug!
